::A long sheet of oiled parchment hangs by polished copper nails to the inside of the town wall nearest the gate. Written in the careful script of Kalindy It reads: ::

Attention citizens and merchants of Shallowford

Are you looking for a particular item, enchantment, potion, or component? As the local representative of the merchants guild I would like to help. I have a direct link for trade throughout our kingdom as well as to our neighbors. Additionally I can aquire items from the Baracour unavailable anywhere else. I will do my best to preform services and provide goods at-cost, in an effort to wean ourselves away from reliance on the Order of the Thorn. Their willingness to act outside of, and in defiance to, the law is unsettling at best. Better to trust a local craftsperson.

::The letter closes with an elaborate drawing of Kalindyl surrounded by busy merchants all eager to do business. Kalindyl appears to be passing coin between the merchants, his hand out to you in a welcoming gesture seeking to include you::

Ummmm.....*Griff looks at note, then looks at kal* ummmm* Griff looks more frustrated at the note and back at kal*

Walker was curious about the note, not because it was a note on our wall, but of griffs fruaterated look at kal while reading it. Walker casually meanders over and at2empts to read the note as he walks past, so as to not draw too much attention from griff. But after getting the jist of it, it finally dawns on him. "Oh my, Griff, are you unable to read?"

"Griff can't read?!?! Oh my!!!!"

*The dwarf bursts out in shock*

"You should draw him pictures, sheriff.... it is not his fault that he can't read, some people just have. Hard time with words."

[Griff the Smith]

Hey reading is for people not used to doing things. I sirs am a doer! You went find a better Griff than me.

*Griff storms off*

"Aww, come back Griff... I meant nothing bad by it. I know you are a doer."

*The dwarf fumbles through his beard, and then pulls out a piece of beef jerky and offers it to Griff*

"Beard jerky, Griff? It is delicious."

Walker grins as Griff storms off with a hairy dwary chasing after his waving beard jerjy in the air. He finally found a sore subject For Griff

*Realizing that Grif must not have heard him he runs and tackles Grif from behind*

"Hey, I've got Beard jerky for you.. unless you prefer cookies."

And this, my friends, is why my public notices come with pictures. So that *ahem* "doers" can understand as well. I'm sure given another moment Grif would have realized what the picture meant.

Hey i know what i am more than most, and most of all, I know you need my blade, so if that means I don't understand these papers, then so be it. Griff goes and seals himself in his room.

A man in Green and White casually reads this notice shaking his head. With a wave of his hands several times new words appear on the bottom of the parchment under the signature:

::days later Kalindyl mutters to himself as he ponders the addition to his message. He then shrugs seemingly concluding that it doesn't matter::

"I suppose people will always pay more for immediate service over having to wait, no matter how much they save or how much it might benefit the town..."

::Kal dusts off the notice, uncurls the edge a bit where it had warped with time, and straightens it out::

"One last try before this market proves too much work. The guild can't afford to keep spending resources on a town that never buys anything"
