So I am making a new costume and I've kinda decided I want to make some "wood" armor pieces, specifically spaulders and bracers. I have EVA foam that kinda looks like the image below. so what is your opinion? Do you think that would look good or terrible? Should I leave the wood pattern or paint over it? ~Kalindyl (Formerly Orin)

Wait? You're not Orin anymore?
Aside, the wood panel looks cool, but hard to work into armor. It doesn't look rigid enough for a platemail construction, but it does look too rigid to be flexible like Leather.
I'd love to see pictures of that worked into armor.

Orin permed in December.
I'm working on this now, I'll post pics in a week or so.

So... Well the material was easy enough to work with, it responded well to heat and was soft enough to shape. And when it cooled it held that shape well. I was really pleased with how it was going along at first. Unfortunately as it cooled the surface discolored, bubbled, and cracked. The end result was perfectly shaped and perfectly ugly. So consider the experiment a failure.
